Hotel WYNDHAM ORLANDO RESORT, 8001 INTERNATIONAL DRIVE, United states.
The 48 acre Wyndham Orlando Resort sits on a tranquil, lagoon laced oasis near Universal's theme parks and seven miles from Walt Disney World. Transportation is a cinch at the Wyndham: the I Ride Trolley stops just outside the hotel and takes passengers along a six mile stretch of International Drive, known worldwide for its shopping, dining and entertainment attractions. The trolley also links to a public bus that zips directly to Disney World's transportation center, from where visitors can board buses to all of the 42 square mile resort's attractions rather than traipsing through acres of parking lots in the boiling Central Florida sun. Kid friendly amenities at the Wyndham include a playground, game room, ice cream shop and two pools, while adults can enjoy three additional pools, sundecks and a 10 person spa tub. While the kids are enjoying themselves, their parents can work out in a fitness center, with men's and women's wet sides containing sauna, steam and massage rooms. When they're famished, they can enjoy breakfast buffets and a la carte meals, burgers, salads, pastas, steaks and seafood at Augustine's Bar & Grill. At the poolside Gatorville, they can slosh back tropical drinks and dine on seafood, pizza, burgers, salads, fried alligator, and fried cheesecake with raspberry and mango sauces. Guestrooms include pale yellow walls, madras fabrics and bamboo chairs, old Florida style décor, and patios or balconies. Some rooms have alcoves with bunk beds for the kids. Although the Wyndham is situated next to one of the area's busiest intersections, the place is a secluded spread of gardens, lawns, lagoons, fountains and wandering ducks. For quaint accommodations in a resort setting close to Orlando's attractions, the Wyndham Orlando Resort is a fine option.
